Sugar Creek Garden, Decatur GA, est. 2010

Sugar Creek was created in partnership with the Wylde Center as the first urban farm supported by City of Decatur through Mayor Bill Floyd's efforts to encourage urban agriculture.  Sustenance Design created the evolving garden plan, managed the garden, taught workshops and guided neighbors to grow vegetables, herbs, fruit trees, tend bees and more. We practiced Biodynamic growing methods as a way to bring ultimate heath to the garden and enliven depleted city soils.  Today the garden hosts a community compost center, a labyrinth, gathering space, bee hives, perennial fruits and culinary herbs sold to local restaurants and neighbors.
